RESTORATION & CONSERVATION

ARNOS VALE CEMETERY, BRISTOL

Restoration of Beautiful Victorian Cemetery

After years of neglect funds were raised to enable the full restoration of this 45 acre cemetery within the heart of the City of Bristol to provide a contemporary facility for the community to enjoy, whilst reviving the cemetery buildings, tombs and monuments which were in a poor state of repair and sympathetically adding new visitor facilities including a glass entrance pavilion.

Privileged to have been awarded this intricate contract our wealth of knowledge, skilled workforce and dedicated project team worked closely together to deliver an outstanding conclusion. Stabilisation of the site was required prior to full restoration of the buildings including stonework repairs, new roof structures and restoration of the internal fabric, retaining original features and honouring the integrity of each building. Consideration was given to the ecological importance of the site which was by now home to a variety of wildlife habitats and the whole area was treated with the care and respect that such a historic site deserved.
