Alteration and Repair of Museum Buildings

The American Museum situated on the outskirts of Bath identified the need to improve facilities to enhance their visitors’ experience and the stable block and coach house was selected to undergo a full repair and alteration programme in order to provide a modern lecture and music room and separate education centre.

Original features were maintained and sympathetically overhauled to restore the buildings former design harnessing our site team’s skills and wealth of knowledge within this specialist field whilst internally a functional contemporary space for modern day use was created. Finishes included a new copper roof with steel Vierendeel truss, green roof areas and new acoustic ceilings and lighting systems both internally and externally to enhance the visual impact of the Museum. The completed contract, concluded to an excellent standard, delighted staff and visitors alike and has enabled the Museum to fulfil their developmental brief.
