THE YOGA STUDIO, THE NEWT, SOMERSET

Ken Biggs Contractors Limited were engaged by Emily Estate and charged with a multitude of prestigious contracts to bring to life their vision of a world renowned hotel and spa set within a working estate.

Entrusted to construct a new building to sit as a complementary structure next to the gym, one of our previous projects, the Yoga Studio has become a firm favourite with visitors.  Whereas the interior of the gym focused around a single view of the garden the Yoga Studio has a single view of the sky via a huge 8.5 metre rooflight and lined entirely in beech slats a warm and immersive sanctuary-like space has been created.  Externally material choices are taken from other buildings on the estate including local stone and copper detailing and the new structure fits seamlessly within the landscape.   Our outstanding site team concluded the project with ease producing a new building built to an extremely high standard of workmanship drawing upon their honed craftsmanship, experience and unrivalled ability to rise to any challenge and overcome with perfection.
