NEW BUILD

THE NEWT – NEW TYTHE THRESHING BARN

NEW TYTHE THRESHING BARN, SOMERSET

We were engaged by Emily Estate to undertake a prestigious contract within the Hadspen Estate in Somerset to include the formation of several buildings for various uses by our client to enrich the experience of their visitors to the Estate.

The building was designed to be a stunning entrance to the inner estate and replica of a traditional Somerset tythe barn and construction started with strip and pad foundations with RC rafts over.  External and internal finishes to the walls are built with a finish of Hadspen Stone from the local quarry.

The complex roof structure to the building was constructed as a traditional cut oak roofs with purlins, trusses and sarking board and natural slate coverings. Internal finishes although minimalist in this large open space were completed to an extremely high specification and detailing to meet our high standard of workmanship and to satisfy the needs of our client.
