REFURBISHMENT
THE NEWT CLOCK HOUSE
TRANSFORMATION OF LISTED STABLES AND CLOCK HOUSE
We were engaged by our clients to create additional hotel accommodation within their prestigious Estate in Somerset and tasked with the project to transform a listed stable block and Clock House into four high quality en-suite bedrooms with a double height central lounge utilising beautiful and bespoke materials, fixtures and fittings in keeping with the existing hotel facilities.
Our skilled site team undertook a stunning restoration of the building, retaining and restoring original features to enhance the overall design of the suites whilst making necessary alterations to enable the completed project to meet the expectations of hotel visitors. A new state of the art electrical and lighting system was installed as well as underfloor heating and purpose made joinery including bespoke doors, staircase, windows and shutters. The four bedrooms were created with stylish log burners and individually designed bathrooms and a feature fireplace was created within the central lounge with a large glazed rooflight above to enhance natural lighting. The original clock and clock housing were fully restored as was the weathervane to bring these dated features back to life. The completed project delivered on all levels from craftsmanship, project management and client satisfaction and it was an absolute pleasure to have been a part of this transformation.
