Requirements
Our brief was to create a new two storey business and enterprise centre which would be the main focal point for visitors to the school and form part of the schools long term goal to provide outstanding facilities for its pupils and staff and for the use of local businesses and community. Construction Works commenced with the existing entrance being demolished once the main hall was secured by a solid hoarding. Concrete pad foundations were formed and a steel frame constructed to create the new structure. Concrete beams were added to provide a solid first floor with a large enclosed concrete staircase forming the access to the upper floor level. External walls were built in solid concrete blocks with a self coloured render applied to the external façade. Blue powder coated aluminium windows and doors were installed to provide the building with plenty of natural lighting and blend with the render finish. |
Internally partitions with acoustic quilt within the core were formed to divide the space to create computer suites at first floor level and form large and spacious meeting rooms on the ground floor. The existing heating system had to be altered and re-routed to accommodate the new building. Electrical installations were carried out and the concrete floors were finished with a cement and sand screed and then carpeted throughout. Decoration works then completed the internal areas to our client’s satisfaction. The large and elegant reception with seating area for visitors and a superior working space for its staff was then completed. The reception desk was manufactured at our own joinery workshop in an ash veneer finish and formed the focal point to the new entrance.
External works then completed this project to the approval of our client and to our high standards of workmanship. Value £1.2 million |
