Requirements
Our brief was to provide our client with additional accommodation to the existing barn by means of an underground extension and remodelling of the dwelling. Construction
The first phase of the project was to dismantle the existing extensions of the barn, which would be rebuilt later in the contract, to enable the formation of a reinforced concrete basement structure. This work included underpinning up to four meters and shoring of the adjacent barn gable elevations to ensure the existing structure was not compromised by the works. The next stage was to cast insitu a caltite concrete structure which was clad in Cotswold stone where visible. This structure would act to prevent water ingress into the underground extension, thus preventing dampness entering the building. |
Once the main construction of the extension was completed internal works commenced with high quality products being used throughout. Fineline windows and doors were fitted, various flooring products were laid including generations flooring, stoneage stone floors, puur resin flooring and Yorkstone. Lutron lighting was added and an Artichoke kitchen fitted to our clients requirements. The existing barn was also fully refurbished to match the high standard set by the extension. Works were also undertaken to the services of the barn including a new borehole, bio mass boiler, solar panels and the provision of a standby generator.
The contract was completed to a high standard of workmanship and to the satisfaction of our client. Value £1,777,600 |
