NUTRICIA HEAD OFFICE, TROWBRIDGE
Client: Nutricia
Main Contractor: Ken Biggs Contractors Ltd
Main Contractor: Ken Biggs Contractors Ltd
Requirements
Due to group consolidation and expansion Nutricia (formally Cow & Gate) needed to double in size their head office building in Trowbridge adding a further 30000 square feet of office space. In addition to the office space they required a statement design reception to the offices fitting for a head office building covering the whole of Northern Europe. Construction Nutricia engaged a local Architect to obtain planning permission for the scheme. Ken Biggs Contractors Ltd then won the contract to develop design to construction and building regulation status and then build out the project. The office space section was constructed to match the existing building in style and the reception section between the existing and new building was a modern design (as shown in the picture) to glue the status statement Nutricia required. |
We employed the skills of Bath Architects Tekus to assist in the design works whilst also working closely with Nutricia’s own staff.
The main triumph of the project was that the complete scheme including the 30000 ft2 of offices, reception and new kitchen and restaurant facilities was constructed in a 10 month build period with only a 3 month design lead in period. The project won design and quality awards from the local authority West Wiltshire District Council. Value: £2.9 million |
