Requirements
Our client purchased an existing house which was in disrepair and obtained planning permission to construct a large five bedroom family home with double garage on the site. Construction Initial works commenced with the demolition and clearance of the previous building and preparation of the site. Concrete foundations were formed as necessary and exterior cavity walls were built in random rubble stone laid in courses. Cotswold window and door surrounds along with corner quoin stones quarried from Tetbury in Gloucestershire were fitted. Large steel beams were incorporated to support the first floor walls and joists which allowed a large kitchen area to be created at ground floor level. A large entrance hall with powder coated roof dome to allow natural light into the building was constructed. |
The roof trusses were designed to create two additional bedrooms and one extra bathroom and storage in the roof space at a later date when required by our client. The roof was finished in natural Spanish roof slates. A purpose made front door constructed in our own Joinery workshop was added along with American custom made sash windows to complete the exterior works of the new building.
Internally an electrical and mechanical installation was carried out and all necessary plumbing works were undertaken. The walls were then plastered and decorated to our client’s requirements. Underfloor heating was fitted throughout the ground floor and to all bathrooms. Natural stone flooring and wall tiles were added. A pre-finished oak bifold patio door leading to a future conservatory was also installed. The project was completed to the satisfaction of our client and to a high standard of workmanship.
