There was then a steel column fixed in the corner and the over site concrete was cast around it.
The next stage was to carcass the roof which was fixed to the existing building on two sides and the other corner was supported on the steel column to give the impression that the roof was floating. The roof was then covered in lead which was carried out by one of our own employees and electrically operated roof window was fitted. A bath stone cil was laid to the perimeter and a new oak door and frame was fitted along with a rebated oak lining to house the glass which was all manufactured by our own Joinery Department. We then made full size glass templates and sent them to a local glazing firm who had the glass cut and fitted it on site. Once the glass was fitted the ceiling was plastered and a new oak floor was laid.
Indian limestone slabs were laid to the two levels of the new terrace along with stone travertine floor tiles to the garden room.
The finishing touches were then made where all the oak was given two coats of Danish oil and the interior was painted to the clients requirements to give a high quality finish.
