Requirements
This contract was divided into two phases. Phase one involved the construction of a new machine shed, the renovation of barns to form ancillary dwellings and the management of a swimming pool construction. Phase two consisted of extending the main house and also carrying out alterations and refurbishment to it with all associated hard landscaping work.
Construction
As the property is an 18th century listed building located within a very rural setting it was essential to use sympathetic and traditional building materials. External walling to the extension comprises of Ham stone rubble with a lime mortar as does the repair and conservation work to the external barn walls. Roof coverings to the extension were carried out using second hand reclaimed tiles and thatch roof coverings were used to some of the ancillary buildings. External windows and doors were all oak, some of which comprised of traditional leaded lights.
