Requirements
Our brief was to upgrade the existing tea making facilities and create a new storage area within the west nave to meet the requirements of our client along with improvements to the west porch door to enhance disability access. Construction
Works commenced with a trench being excavated from the west porch to the car park to house the new sewer and water pipes. The existing kitchen was then carefully taken out and removed from site along with a screen, doors and tower door. A new external door manufactured in our own Joinery Workshop from Douglas Fir along with a hardwood frame was fitted along with a new pine screen, door between the tower porch and west nave. Storage cupboards were also manufactured at our Joinery Workshop and installed. |
The new kitchen area was then formed using kitchen units and accessories supplied by our client. All necessary electrical and plumbing installations were carried out and the new joinery was decorated to match the existing timber finishes within the church. Externally the trenches and tarmac paths were resurfaced to complete the project to the satisfaction of our client.
At a later date works were carried out to the rainwater system of the north elevation and the gutter was taken down and replaced with new cast iron railway pattern gutter to match the existing. Two damaged hopper heads were removed from site, repaired and refixed. The gutter and downpipe was then decorated to match existing finishes. Value: £28,450 |
