Requirements
Our Small Works Department undertook a contract to provide updated kitchen facilities, create a storage area and enhance the disabled access to a local Church. Our brief was to provide all joinery details as and when required by the contract programme. Construction
Initial works began with templates being taken of stonework which was to house a new arched top exterior door and frame. The framed door was constructed using Douglas Fir timber with vertical boarding terminating into a shaped arched head with ledged and braced rear details incorporated to take the original lock and key. |
Once the storage area within the Church was formed a screen with a central door was required to separate the main Church from this space. The screen was made from softwood with Birch faced plywood panels stained to match the surrounding joinery. At the head of the doors a semi circular pattern was added and mouldings were machined using purpose made cutters to match the Architect’s design. To provide maximum storage space within this area a low level cupboard was constructed using the same materials and details as the screen finished off with a matching stain. Value £7,200
