Requirements
Our brief was to extend and refurbish this 19th century farmhouse including maximising space to the attic by carrying out extensive structural alterations to the requirements of our client. In addition to the main refurbishment contract extensive external landscaping works were also commissioned. Construction The project commenced with the construction of the extensions which were built from natural rubble stone with extensive dressed stone features to match the existing house including copings, window surrounds, quoins and plinths. Re-roofing works then commenced using slate matching the existing on the main farmhouse. Full refurbishment of the farmhouse was then carried out. This involved extensive structural steelwork installations, new floor constructions and maximising the existing space by carrying out alterations to wall layouts and openings. |
Geothermal energy now heats the house and a state of the art sound, lighting, telephone, computer and security system was installed. Internally installation of extensive quantities of high quality bespoke joinery including the fit out of a larder room, laundry room, scullery, kitchen and gun room took place. New bespoke fireplaces were installed along with new limestone and oak floors throughout the house. External landscaping works commenced including pond construction, terraces, paths, boundary and retaining walls and the co-ordination and preparation for an extensive glasshouse.
The project was completed to a high standard of finish and to the satisfaction of our client.
