Requirements
Our brief was to undertake refurbishment works to the existing outpatient reception and waiting area including lifts, lobbies and staircases. Improvements were required to the Isotopes area, main entrance and ambulance drop zone. Also included within the contract was the relocation of the Hospitals medical record unit. Construction The 37 week contract was split into various phases as the building was still in constant use by our client. As we were working within a very sensitive area of the Hospital great care was taken at every stage to minimise the effects on staff and patients. Co-ordination with the Hospital was paramount and noise and dust issues had to be carefully managed. |
Some works could only be undertaken out of normal working hours and at weekends to benefit our clients. During the improvements to the main entrance and ground floor a temporary reception had to be formed off of the busy car park including alternative access for ambulances and patients. Following our phased programme we created new offices and medical rooms as required with new partitions, floor coverings, suspended ceilings and decorations. All electrics and lighting systems were upgraded including IT data and a renewed fire alarm system fitted. All heating and plumbing arrangements were overhauled and new basins, medical gases and ventilation work carried out as specified. The project was completed to a high standard of workmanship and to the satisfaction of our client.
